SINGAPORE - A car crashed into a bus stop along Jurong Town Hall Road on Monday (June 5) afternoon, and a woman believed to be its driver was taken to hospital.

Pictures sent in by an ST reader show a white Honda car on the pavement, having crashed into the bus stop and wrecked parts of it, including a billboard, the bus stop sign and parts of the shelter.

The police told The Straits Times that they were alerted to the accident along Jurong Town Hall Road, towards Bukit Batok Road, at 6.02pm.

A 35-year-old woman was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. ST understands she had minor injuries and no one else was injured.

The Land Transport Authority said in a tweet at 6.46pm that an accident had occurred on Jurong Town Hall Road, towards Boon Lay Way, after Jurong East Street 13.

It advised motorists to avoid the left lane.

Tow truck workers are currently on the scene retrieving the vehicle. Police investigations are ongoing.
