SINGAPORE - Fitness gym California Fitness will be closing its Orchard branch - one of its four outlets here - later this month.

The Orchard outlet, located on level eight of Ngee Ann City, will cease operations from Feb 15, the gym said in a notice to members and guests on Friday (Feb 5).

California Fitness - which has three other branches in Bugis, Novena and Raffles Place - said the decision to close the Orchard outlet is due to "variable business strategies and decisions".

"We stand firm in our belief of bringing fitness at affordable packages and everyone should continue to enjoy the advantages of healthy living," it noted.

Members can still visit any one of its three other outlets.

In the notice, the gym also assured its members that it will make the transition as smooth as possible.

Existing members of the Orchard branch have been asked to collect their belongings by Feb 14, a day before the outlet's closure. Those who are unable to do so may proceed to the Bugis branch to collect them by March 15, after which all uncollected belongings would be donated to charity.
