SINGAPORE - Bukit Gombak seniors came together for a concert on Saturday evening at the ITE College West (Chua Chu Kang) Auditorium, where they even got to hear South West District Mayor Low Yen Ling belt out a Cantonese song.

The Bukit Gombak Golden Age Concert, held for the third time, aims to bring seniors in the constituency together by providing a platform for seniors to bond with their neighbours, families and friends through music.

It was jointly organised by the Bukit Gombak Active Ageing Committee (AAC) and Bukit Gombak Community Arts and Culture Club, as part of the Bukit Gombak Wellness Programme, which aims to encourage seniors to stay physically, mentally and social active.

The concert was hosted by Ms Low, who is Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC and Adviser to Bukit Gombak Grassroots Organisations. She is also Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Social and Family Development and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.

Said Bukit Gombak AAC Chairman Richard Lim: "It was heartening to see the residents singing along, grooving to the music and their smiles all around as they reminisce the memories the song triggers."
