LTA says the reduced operations since Dec 2019 are to facilitate line renewal, to be completed in 2024

Mr Hong Xi Ang, 34, bought a flat in Fajar in Bukit Panjang last year, selecting it for its closeness to Fajar LRT station.
But the prolonged reduced operations of Bukit Panjang LRT, since December 2019, means he has not been able to take the LRT to get to parts of the neighbourhood that previously would have just been one or two stations away, he said.
