SINGAPORE – A nine-year-old boy who was crossing a road in Bugis on his kick scooter was injured after an accident with a taxi on Oct 13.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the accident involving a taxi and a pedestrian along Middle Road towards Nicoll Highway at about 2.40pm that day.
The boy was taken conscious to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, they said.
Dashcam footage posted on Roads.sg’s Facebook page on Oct 13 shows the boy dashing across the pedestrian crossing on his kick scooter, before he is struck by a ComfortDelGro taxi.
The traffic lights are in the favour of the taxi.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said that its taxi team will be reaching out to the pedestrian to offer assistance and support.
The spokesperson also said that a police report has been made, and the company is cooperating with the authorities in their investigations.
