SINGAPORE - Soon after the announcement that the Singapore Botanic Gardens has been accorded Unesco World Heritage Site status, congratulations proliferated online.
Some also shared little known facts about the 156-year-old Gardens.

The National Parks Board put up a video with interesting historical facts about the Gardens.
The Ministry of National Development said that what makes the Gardens endearing "are the people, who inject energy and soul into the place".
