The body of the man who fell into the waters off East Coast Park (ECP) beach was recovered on Saturday evening, after a search spanning over six hours.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said on Saturday that they were informed of the incident earlier at about 11.15am, and dispatched a fire engine, a red rhino, two ambulances and two support vehicles to the scene.

Divers from the SCDF and Naval Diving Unit were also deployed for the search for the man, who is believed to be a Chinese national.

He had apparently fallen into the waters while he was fishing with two friends.
