Body of man found in Jurong Lake

SINGAPORE - A man was found dead in Jurong Lake on Wednesday (June 7) morning.

His body was retrieved by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at around 8.10am from the waters just opposite Lakeside MRT station.

Assistant engineer Muhammad Nasri, 25, told The Straits Times he was in a bus, on the way to work, when he passed by the scene at around 9.45am.

Two police cars were seen parked by the side of the road and a blue tent was being set up, he added.

SCDF dispatched two fire engines, two fire bikes and a support vehicle, said a spokesman.
