Body of man, 69, found floating in waters near Esplanade

The police said the body of the man was found floating in the waters off Queen Elizabeth Walk on the morning of Nov 13.

SINGAPORE – The police are investigating after the body of a 69-year-old man was recovered from the Singapore River on the morning of Nov 13.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the police said they received a call for help at about 9am. The body was found floating in the waters off Queen Elizabeth Walk, they said.
Queen Elizabeth Walk is a promenade nestled within Esplanade Park.
The police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.
The police added that based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.
The case is believed to have been classified as an unnatural death.
