Body of 41-year-old man found in Geylang; police investigating unnatural death

SINGAPORE - The body of a 41-year-old man was found in a back alley in Geylang on Sunday (July 9) morning.

Police said they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at 7.43am and found the man lying motionless at Geylang Lorong 24A.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene at 8.05am.

The Straits Times understands that the man had injuries on his head and upper body, although nothing incriminating was found at the scene.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, which visited the scene and spoke to eyewitnesses, an argument had broken out between two groups of men at a nearby 24-hour coffeeshop.

The man was seen trying to resolve the dispute, but was later found dead.

Police investigations are ongoing.
