SINGAPORE - Cash registers rang steadily last weekend as retail stores in Singapore saw more shoppers stream in during the annual Black Friday sale on Nov 29.

Despite the dark cloud over the retail market in recent years, the sale is a bright spark of hope for brick-and-mortar stores.
