Banks under scrutiny over 1MDB

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) said it has asked a number of banks to provide information on transactions and fund flows through the banking system here, in a review related to possible offences involving Malaysian state investor 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). But it declined to confirm reports claiming it had investigated some 40 banks with a presence in Singapore.
