Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) news and lifestyle content site AsiaOne has been relaunched with a fresh mix of content.

The website, which started in 1995, has a new logo and will focus on social news and trending topics in Singapore, Malaysia and the region. The team will also deliver and curate stories and videos from Singapore and all over, and use analytics and tools to showcase compelling stories. AsiaOne will also continue to create popular lifestyle content and award-winning features with emphasis on well-curated and comprehensive story packages from local and foreign sources.

It will provide bite-sized information that is easy to read and digest for the social media audience.

AsiaOne is the primary content aggregator for SPH's publications, and will continue to feature stories from The Straits Times, The New Paper, The Business Times and Stomp, while also syndicating content from SPH magazines, like HerWorld, Home & Decor and Shape.

The website recently won the 2017 Communicator Award in Excellence for its feature "How a cruise ship prepares 15,000 meals a day out at sea", which used visual storytelling elements and videos.

AsiaOne editor Karen Lim said the new site is a fresh take on what readers traditionally know as news.

"The way we approach news is going to be different from the usual current affairs news breaks throughout the day," she said.

"We know readers can get their news alerts from other local and international sources. Therefore, we are now focusing our efforts on news that matters to our readers - what they're really reading, talking about or sharing on social media."
