Archbishop William Goh officially takes over as head of the Catholic Church of Singapore

Archbishop William Goh has officially taken over as head of the Catholic Church of Singapore.

This after Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Archbishop Nicholas Chia at noon in Rome, or 6pm Singapore time on Saturday.

Archbishop Goh is in charge of the office "at the moment of the announcement", said the Apostolic Nunciature of Singapore in a statement last night.

An inaugural and Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Friday at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd to commemorate the succession of the Archbishop Goh, as the fourth Archbishop of Singapore.
