Applications open for L'Oreal Singapore Women in Science fellowships

SINGAPORE - Women who are science researchers in Singapore can now apply for this year's L'Oreal Singapore For Women In Science National Fellowships.

Two fellowships, each worth $30,000, will be awarded, one to a researcher in the field of life sciences and another in the field of physical and engineering sciences.

Women who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents are eligible. Candidates should be in or about to enter their final year of PhD studies, or carrying out post-doctoral research. They must also be able to document the applicability of their research.

Applications close on Oct 31, and the application documents may be found here: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/sg/pinpoint-pr/news/call-for-application-l-or….

The fellowships are organised with the support of the Singapore National Commission for Unesco, and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research. They aim to recognise the contributions of talented women to science, and to encourage women to pursue careers in science.

The L'Oreal-Unesco For Women in Science Awards were established by the L'Oreal Foundation in 1998. Since L'Oreal Singapore joined the programme in 2009, 12 Singaporeans have recognised as National Fellows.
