Ang Mo Kio slashing incident: Man charged with causing grievous hurt

A 26-year-old man was charged on Friday with causing grievous hurt to a man in Ang Mo Kio over the weekend.

Zainul Ahmad Ridauddin Zainul Arriffudin allegedly slashed Mr Mohammad Ashiq Sabtu, 20, on his left arm and both legs with a knife at the foot reflexology corner in front of Block 641.

He is said to have committed the offence with Mohd Hisham Mohd Salleh, 38, who is at large.

Ahmad was arrested along Tanglin Halt Road on Wednesday. He is remanded at Ang Mo Kio Police Division for further investigation.

The case will be mentioned next Friday. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 15 years and shall also be liable to fine or to caning.
