A 17-year-old Pandan Gardens resident helped the police to nab three female suspects for attempting to steal a bicycle in the neighbourhood early on Wednesday morning.
A police statement said that the resident made a police a report after noticing a group of people loitering and behaving suspiciously in the area.
Officers from the Clementi Police Division, who arrived minutes later, managed to detain the three suspects outside a Housing Board flat unit and arrested them after an interview.
A cutter was also recovered at the void deck of the same block and seized as a case exhibit, said the police.
Investigations are ongoing. If convicted of the offence of Attempted Theft with Common Intention under the Penal Code, the suspects face a maximum sentence of three years' jail and a fine.
