Slightly hazy conditions on Tuesday are expected to improve with the strengthening of winds, and change in wind direction to the later part of the day, Minister for Environment and Water Resources Dr Vivian Balakrishnan said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

There was moderate haze on Tuesday morning due to hot spots in South Sumatra and south westerly winds. However, air quality remains within the moderate range and normal activities can still be carried out. At 1pm today, the 24-hour PSI was 26-32, and the 3-hour PSI was 55.

Such conditions are expected to improve as the wind is expected to strengthen and change direction to blow from the south later on Tuesday.

The National Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when there are further developments.
