Agencies step up anti-drug efforts

A new network of 47 organisations has pledged support for the anti- drug cause, including the Defence Ministry, which will screen all national service recruits and cadets.

National servicemen in the police force and Singapore Civil Defence Force also undergo screenings.

The stepped-up efforts, led by the Central Narcotics Bureau, come as more young people, including students, and professionals were arrested for drug abuse in recent years.
