SINGAPORE - About 40 people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a coffee shop at Block 801 Tampines Avenue 4 on Aug 27.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident around 11pm.

The fire, which involved the cooking area of one of the stalls in the coffee shop, was extinguished using a water jet and a hose reel.

There were no reported injuries.

Preliminary investigations showed that the fire started from a wok in the affected stall, SCDF said.

It also reminded the public not to leave any cooking or frying or heating activity unattended, and to switch off the gas or electric supply when not in use.
