The police have arrested a 55-year-old woman for two possible cases of theft in a supermarket.

The first happened on Thursday at about 1pm, when the police were alerted to a case of theft at a supermarket at Redhill Lane, where two cans of abalone valued at $85 were stolen.

Through CCTV footage, they established the identity of the suspect, who is believed to be involved in an earlier case reported on Wednesday. She had apparently also stolen two cans of abalone, valued at $79, then.

The woman was arrested around Pasir Panjang Road on Thursday at about 5pm and the four cans of abalone were recovered.

Police say investigations are still going on.
