A recent case where a magician allegedly made fraudulent claims under the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore's (Iras) Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) is raising questions over whether the incentive scheme had sufficiently stringent checks.
But it also highlighted the delicate balance that the Government needed to strike to ensure that applications were not unduly burdensome, in order to help businesses.
