SINGAPORE – Some major supermarket chains in Singapore, such as FairPrice and Giant, will be giving out $6 return vouchers for shoppers who spend at least $60 worth of their CDC vouchers, to mark the Republic’s diamond jubilee, dubbed SG60.

Every Singaporean household can now

claim $300 worth of CDC vouchers

, which were launched on Jan 3. Half the vouchers can be used at participating supermarkets, and half at participating hawker stalls and heartland merchants.

Shoppers can get a $6 return voucher and a 600 yuu points booster worth $3 (for yuu rewards club members) when they spend a minimum of $60 with CDC vouchers in a single receipt across all Giant and Cold Storage stores, including CS Fresh and Jasons Deli.

The promotion will run for one week from Jan 3 to 9.

The $6 return voucher has no minimum spending requirement. Only one return voucher can be used in a single transaction, and the return voucher can be redeemed a day after the issuance till Jan 17.

FairPrice Group (FPG) will also distribute a $6 return voucher for every $60 worth of CDC supermarket vouchers spent in a single transaction at any FairPrice store from Jan 3 to 12.

There is no minimum spend required for customers to use their $6 return vouchers, and they can use multiple return vouchers in a single transaction.

The return vouchers will be valid for use from the next day of issuance until Feb 28.

Mr Vipul Chawla, FPG’s group chief executive officer, said: “SG60 is a significant milestone for the nation, and the launch of our $6 return voucher initiative is a way of making it even more special – we want to do our part to ensure that Singaporeans have access to the daily staples they need to lead fulfilling lives.”

In December 2024, to kick-start its SG60 celebrations, FPG introduced

a 6 per cent discount for Community Health Assist Scheme blue and orange card holders

across all FairPrice stores and Unity outlets for the first 60 days of 2025.

At all Prime supermarkets, shoppers can get a $5 return voucher when they spend $80 using their CDC vouchers from Jan 3 to 16.

The voucher can be used for the next purchase, from Jan 4 to 17, with no minimum spend required.
