More than 5,000 members of the Filipino community gathered at the Singapore Expo on Friday (Dec 16) to meet Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte at the end of his two-day state visit.

Despite the heavy rain in the early afternoon, long lines formed outside the Max Pavilion and Hall 9. But some of those who came were turned away because they were not on the registration list for the event.

Ahead of the president's arrival, there were song and dance performances from different groups, including the San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir. There was a festive atmosphere at the pavilion, and many were celebrating with groups of friends or their families.
