SINGAPORE - Three women were injured in a five-vehicle chain collision along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Friday (Sept 8) morning.
The accident occurred around 10.30am and involved two taxis and three cars along the PIE towards Tuas, before the Paya Lebar exit, the police said.
The trio - two aged 27 and one aged 31 - were taken to Raffles Hospital. Two of them were car passengers, while one of them was a taxi passenger.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted at 10.35am and dispatched an ambulance to the scene, which took three conscious people to Raffles Hospital.
The Land Transport Authority in a tweet at 10.46am advised motorists to avoid lanes one and two on the PIE, towards Tuas, before Paya Lebar Road.
The accident caused congestion till the Bedok North Avenue 3 exit, according to LTA.
Police are investigating.
