41-year-old man arrested for breaking into school, stealing laptops

SINGAPORE - A 41-year-old man has been arrested for breaking into a school in Chai Chee and stealing several laptops.

The Straits Times understands that the school was Ping Yi Secondary School.

The police received a report about the housebreaking and theft by night at 8.16am on Monday (June 20).

Officers from Bedok Police Division identified the suspect with the help of images from the school's closed-circuit television cameras and police cameras in the neighbourhood.

He was arrested at 12.25pm on the same day.

If convicted of housebreaking and theft by night, he can be jailed at least two years and not more than 14 years, and fined.
