4 injured after multi-vehicle crash on SLE

SINGAPORE – Four people were taken to hospital after a chain collision involving two cars and two lorries on the Seletar Expressway towards Bukit Timah Expressway on Dec 20.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at around 9.55pm.
The injured were a 53-year-old male car driver, a 37-year-old lorry driver, a 31-year-old male car driver and his 39-year-old passenger. They were conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, SCDF said.
A 34-year-old lorry driver is assisting with investigations, the police said.

The car at the end of the chain has its bonnet wedged under the back of a lorry. The front of that lorry is seen pressing against the rear of another car, which in turn has its bonnet pushed up against the back of the first lorry in the sequence.
This incident is the latest in a spate of chain accidents on Singapore’s roads. At least three other multi-vehicle collisions have been reported within a one-month span.
