SINGAPORE - A 36-year-old man has been arrested for molesting a woman in Sengkang, the police said on Thursday (June 15).

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, made a police report at 7.30pm on Wednesday (June 14) saying she was molested at the lift lobby of Block 614B Edgefield Plains.

Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division identified the suspect after extensive investigations and arrested him that same day.

If convicted of the offence of outrage of modesty, he can be jailed up to two years, fined, caned, or any combination of the three.

Just this month, two men were arrested for molesting women. The first, a 57-year-old man, had done so in Hougang and the second, a 26-year-old man, molested a woman in Bukit Batok.

Last month, a 56-year-old man was arrested at Kovan MRT Station after molesting three women on the train in half an hour.
