SINGAPORE - The number of children who were abused by a family member spiked by 30 per cent last year, with sharp increases in physical and sexual abuse cases.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) investigated 1,163 child abuse cases in 2018, a 30 per cent jump from 894 in 2017.
