3 men arrested for rioting in Tanjong Pagar that saw 2 men taken to hospital

SINGAPORE - Three men, aged between 20 and 35, have been arrested after a group of people were allegedly attacked in Tanjong Pagar on Wednesday morning (May 23).

Police said on Thursday that the trio were arrested for rioting.

Earlier, it was reported that two men, aged 29 and 38, were taken to Singapore General Hospital after they were attacked in Tanjong Pagar Road and Duxton Road at around 3am on Wednesday.

The older man was unconscious when taken to the hospital, a police spokesman said.

Another 29-year-old man was arrested under the Liquor Control Act on Wednesday.

An eyewitness told citizen journalism site Stomp that the group of attackers went on a "rampage".

The attackers then fled the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.
