21-year-old woman killed in Jurong West accident; car driver arrested

SINGAPORE - A 21-year-old female pedestrian was killed in a car accident along Jurong West Avenue 1 on Tuesday (June 7) night.

Responding to media queries, a police spokesman said it had arrested a 41-year-old male car driver in relation to the case.

The spokesman added that it was alerted to the accident at 9.07pm.

The victim was taken unconscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

Facebook user Fadiq Rosdi, who claimed to be the victim's older brother, appealed for eyewitnesses in a post on Wednesday morning.

Photos of the alleged car driver, who was clad in a white shirt, being taken away by traffic police officers were also uploaded in a Facebook post by user Afyque Salleh.

Police investigations are ongoing.
