A 34-year-old male lorry passenger and a 33-year-old male prime mover driver were conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, they said.

Four more people were assessed for minor injuries but declined to be taken to hospital, SCDF added.

The police said that two male lorry drivers, aged 33 and 36, are assisting with investigations.

At about 9.45am, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) advised the public on X to avoid lanes two, three and four of the expressway because of the accident.

In updates at about 10.25am and 12.35pm, it added that there was congestion stretching to the KPE (ECP).

In dashcam footage posted on the Singapore Roads Accident.com Facebook page, the five vehicles can be seen in a pile-up in the affected lanes. Three ambulances can also be spotted in the video.

Several SCDF officers are seen in the footage, including some attending to an individual lying on the ground.

The video shows that one of the vehicles has a smashed windscreen, and glass and metal debris is strewn across the road.
