Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong marked Youth Day by posting a jump shot on Facebook yesterday accompanied with a message to the "young and young at heart" to experiment and try things out, saying they should not be afraid of making mistakes.

The photo captures Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Koh Poh Koon, PM Lee, Mrs Lee, Culture, Community and Youth Minister Grace Fu, and Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Transport Josephine Teo.

It was taken in Moscow in May during the Prime Minister's visit to Russia.

"Your dreams today can become your passions tomorrow. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, because that's the beauty of being young. You can experiment, try things out, and discover what you can be. The future often looks daunting, but go forth and create your own!" PM Lee wrote.

Separately, he visited residents living in Punggol East on his first visit there since the Punggol East by-election in 2013.

Among other activities, PM Lee and Punggol East MP Charles Chong stopped by Rivervale Plaza, where they obliged numerous people who asked to take wefies and photographs with them.

They later broke fast with several Muslim residents.
