Those being considered are volunteering or serving in grassroots bodies, party branches

The People's Action Party (PAP) has been pressing on with its selection process for candidates for the next general election (GE), with the list of potentials having been whittled down from about 200 people to 50 over the last two years, The Straits Times understands.

This comes as Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat - the leader of the PAP's fourth-generation team - said in a recent interview that the party is working on its manifesto and is in the midst of selecting candidates for the next GE, which must be held by April 2021.
