Credit to cabbies for steering through ride-hailing disruption

They could have been out plying the streets for fares, but a small band of cabbies instead gathered at the public gallery for yesterday afternoon's Parliament sitting.

The group of about 15 men listened attentively as Mr Ang Hin Kee (Ang Mo Kio GRC) paid tribute to them and Singapore's taxi drivers at large - hailing their resilience, fortitude and adaptability, even as their livelihoods were being disrupted by ride-hailing apps like Uber and Grab over the past six years.
