A law to curb the reckless use of e-scooters and other mobility devices kicked in recently. Is there now breathing space for annoyed pedestrians to see things from the riders' point of view? The writer tries to do so.

Does the "e" in e-scooters and e-bikes ridden by reckless people also stand for "express"?

Express their self-righteous anger by raging at children they've knocked over.
