World War II began 80 years ago after Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union signed a "non-aggression" pact that was, in fact, a mutual aggression pact.

Adolf Hitler invaded Poland on Sept 1, 1939. The Soviet invasion of Poland, no less murderous, followed two weeks later.
