A surge in volume will coincide with SingPost's plans to streamline deliveries. But in the longer term, investments in postal infrastructure upgrades are needed


The Singles' Day retail extravaganza smashed sales records yet again last week, and by now, thousands of online purchases are on their way to homes across Singapore.

The event - also known as 11.11 for the date it is held on - has become arguably the biggest shopping day globally, with steep discounts offered by retailers and flash deals on online marketplaces that give window shopping a new meaning.
