Why the statutory retirement age is important for Singapore workers

Like in many developed countries, the workforce in Singapore is ageing.

The size of Singapore's working-age population is expected to peak next year before flatlining. On the other hand, the population of seniors aged 65 and above is projected to nearly double and reach close to one million by 2030. This can be a boon or a bane, depending on the measures we take.
