What money can't buy

People's moral convictions are not for sale, so say folk on both sides of the Causeway.

Counting has rarely been a spectator sport but in the past week, few events have captivated people on both sides of the Causeway as much as the tallying of luxury handbags and stacks of cash found in apartments linked to former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak.

Police officers in Kuala Lumpur pulled long hours to count the cash, which was in various currencies and kept in 35 bags. The total amount came up to RM114 million ($38.4 million).
