What 2018 told us about Brexit

LONDON • You can tell it has been a bad year for British politics when Mr Vladimir Putin is delivering lectures to Mrs Theresa May on democracy. "The Brexit referendum took place, she has to fulfil the will of the people," the Russian President said last week.

The "will of the people", expressed in the 2016 EU referendum, is propelling Britain towards the European Union exit door, but MPs are still debating how to execute Brexit, whether to leave without a deal or even whether to leave at all.
