Call it a blessing of omission. You would not have guessed it from reading headlines, but there is a palpable shift in approach, with other countries appearing to pare back their bashing of China. At least by name.

Chalk it up to the water at the Shangri-La in Singapore, perhaps. It seems to have tempered aggression.
