A week ago, something quietly radical happened in Tiong Bahru, where I live. Residents in this unique, heritage enclave did something that, in most places, would probably trigger a minor revolt: We asked for our blue recycling bins to be taken away.
Not reduced, not relocated, but removed entirely – for three months.
