A few weeks ago, I was issued a new business mobile phone by my employer and began the arduous process of reloading all the apps I need to maintain connectivity with my workplace and with the world as a busy, travelling professional.
Ten years ago, smartphones and mobile apps were hardly that widespread, much less all the companies that now offer their goods and services via my phone screen's tiny real estate. Each app calls out for attention with the potential of being a game-changer - truly the 21st-century hawker centres of digital sustenance.
