Whatever people’s expectations of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s maiden National Day Rally speech on Aug 18, most post-rally comments in both the mainstream and social media suggest they have been exceeded.
Just over three months into his new job, PM Wong spelt out his vision for “a refreshed Singapore Dream” with confidence and conviction, as well as humility, peppering his ideas with vivid anecdotes, examples and even humour.
