In Good Company: Carlsberg chairman cheers the new generation

Advances in science and collaboration hold out hope for a sustainable future - and that includes responsible drinking, says the beer giant's chairman

In Boy In The Bubble, the opening number of his Africa-inspired Graceland album, Paul Simon sang about the age of miracles and wonders that we are living in - "this is the long distance call"!.

Fast forward 35 years and we are in an era where nothing really ought to surprise us anymore. Even so, it was something of a surprise for me to sit down recently with Dr Flemming Besenbacher, chairman of the supervisory board of Carlsberg Group, the Danish beer giant, and discover that he is a renowned nanoscientist.
