He was an erudite man built of paper and ink, who found music in the clatter of printing presses, and so how it all began was unsurprising. With a package from this stranger which arrived on my desk in the summer of 2011.
Inside was a book, a DVD and a brochure, all on cricket. Attached was a letter dipped in kindness, whose last sentence spoke to the character of this man: “For all the pleasure you have given me, I feel I must give something in return.”
