Many years ago, walking home from Simei MRT station one hot afternoon, I saw an elderly woman struggling to push a trolley full of shopping bags along a footpath next to the main road.
As I was in no hurry, I approached her and signalled my willingness to help push the trolley to wherever she lived. She agreed, or rather did not resist, as I started pushing the trolley towards wherever she was going.
