Recording in taxis, for-hire cars: Consider cost, consequences

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Tuesday that inward-facing cameras inside taxis and private-hire cars will now be allowed to make audio recordings.

This ruling on audio - effective from July 15 - comes a year after the authority said yes to such vehicles having these cameras, although no operator has installed them yet.
