New rules for changed digital info landscape

In Parliament yesterday, Communications and Information Minister S. Iswaran explains why the online falsehood law is needed. Here are edited excerpts from his speech:

The digital information age has had a profound impact on our work, leisure and communication patterns.

A recent MCI (Ministry of Communications and Information) study found that while broadcast and print remain relevant, there has been a pronounced shift towards online news consumption.
